[ANALYSIS] IANAR BTS (Ep.27&28)

Long time no see…

For the past two weeks MBC didn’t release BTS about kyuah couple (even the they didn't release many BTS about seungho), that’s why I didn’t post anything on my blog.

But last night there were two BTS. So let’s jump into the analysis.

In video I, I can feel the strong serious and professional atmosphere.

YSH and CSB sat separately (part of the drama) without talked with each other. Seungho was busy looking at his feet, even at 00:15 he turned his head to the right.

Seungho smiled and laughed with the crews. CSB also with her assistant.

CSB and YSH did the rehearsal when jiah tied mingyu’s scarf and put on his jacket hood. Just look at his face, Seungho was so serious.

CSB laughed but YSH was still so serious and looked confused, seems like he didn’t understand why CSB laughed.

YSH read the script seriously when CSB offered him to share the blanket, then he said “it’s ok”. I said "to share" because she lifted the half of the blanket slightly, if she offered the whole blanket, I think she would lift all of it. YSH refused to use it, still with his serious face.

YSH moved the heater closer to him, still with his serious face without talked with CSB.  At 01:12 they shared the blanket and began to take the scene. The rest of the video is just rehearsal and filming.

Well, for this second kiss scene BTS, it’s somehow different with the first kiss scene BTS where we can clearly tell that their interaction (some people still say that they’re so sweet) were intentional, unnatural and scripted. The second BTS showed us that YSH is a very professional actor and his natural actions are not to exaggerate anything. It’s the real him. I can see that he wanted to end the scene as soon as possible. Also, like video I, video II was mostly about the scenes and rehearsals.

YSH read the script seriously. CSB also looked into the same script but YSH didn’t move the script lower. Even at 00:17 he turned his body to the right. Still, no words.

They began filming, we can hear at 00:40 the director shouted “cut” and then YSH laughed awkwardly.

CSB and YSH did the rehearsal for hug scene. No giggle, no words.

Both YSH and CSB monitored the scenes seriously when suddenly YSH staff put the earmuff on him. YSH surprised and looked turned to him. Then CSB laughed at 01:14 but 01:17 YSH only smiled a little bit.

The filming began.

The director stopped them (he said to redo the scene) and YSH immediately broke the kiss and looked at somewhere else but his face was still serious. I get the vibe that he wanted to end it as soon as possible.

YSH laughed because suddenly the wind blew and he felt so cold. CSB slightly smacked his arm but after someone told them to begin the filming YSH back into his serious face.

They began to filming again. 01:43 YSH did it again, broke the kiss and looked at somewhere else.

I think YSH and CSB talked about the hand gesture. The caption said that they were joking around, but I don’t think so. The director told them to begin filming so YSH back to his serious face.

YSH broke the kiss and looked at CSB face, but don’t worry, it’s in the script (part of the drama). Watch the drama, you’ll find that mingyu did it. Unlike Ruler where YSH immediately looked at KSH for a long time after he broke the kiss but it wasn’t scripted. Even in IANAR, the part when both are smiled and laughed (02:16) were the parts of the scenes/ drama.

Additional points.

1. As usual everything is always written all over YSH face. When he feels uncomfortable, happy or anything.
2. Video I showed us the serious and professional atmosphere where mostly about the scenes. So I guess there were just a few interactions between YSH and CSB beyond the scenes.
3. Video II was the same with video I, YSH rarely joked and talked with CSB.
4. I don’t know but these days (since MBC awards) I feel like YSH is keeping the distance, He did it before the awards but he make it even more obvious since then. I saw many fantaken photos (when they were filming in Geoje, Rest Area, etc), they showed us that YSH alone or with the staff not with his co-star, unless they began to filming. Even in the BTS, he’s being more serious than before.
5. For me, the BTS or making film is the one which is filmed from afar (candid), not scripted, so everything will be natural and real. Ruler is the one of them.
6. It seems like MBC already realized the point no.5 (I really hope so), so the BTS for Ep.27 and 28 were more natural than other BTS before. The 2 videos were taken from afar. Now, it becomes more obvious which one is natural and which one is scripted. And which one is the real YSH.
7. They skipped the videos many times, so I guess there wasn't many "moments" to show us. 
8. Have you watched episode 27&28? If you haven't, please watch. Because most of the BTS are the parts of the drama. Also, the feeling for the kiss of Ruler was deeper than IANAR (even when the kiss (Ruler second kiss) was lighter than IANAR ). Because I think in Ruler YSH put his real feeling into the scenes, that's why he was so gentle and full of love.
9. Maybe some of you want to know, "It's not the time for filming but why CSB leaned on YSH shoulder and he let her.", or. "why did they hug even if it's just rehearsal". That's the meaning of rehearsal, in a drama the actors do the rehearsal before they begin to take the scenes. They try to adjust the gestures and the dialogues so that they will get the feelings of the scenes. So, it's not that they did it because they want to, it's because they have to.
